OOKLA: Manila is one of the ten cities with the slowest 5G download speeds in the world.

Starting with the fastest, Oslo, Norway, topped the list of 15 foreign capitals with a 5G median download speed of 526.74 Mbps. Seoul, South Korea is in second place with 467.84 Mbps; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is in third place with 421.26 Mbps; Doha, Qatar is in fourth place with 413.40 Mbps; and Stockholm, Sweden is in fifth place with 401.30 Mbps.

However, with 112.23 Mbps, Manila, Philippines, is among the top ten world cities, trailing only Singapore (111.20 Mbps) and Warsaw, Poland (80.18 Mbps) in terms of slowest 5G download speeds. The slowest connection is to Capetown, South Africa, at 53.33 Mbps.

According to Ookla, capitals that were not featured on either list did not have enough 5G samples to be included in the study for Q1-Q2 2021.

In a second white paper, Ookla claimed that Manila has 24.3 percent 5G availability. Because less than 48% of 5G users are utilizing older network technology, it's safe to believe that the majority of 5G users are still using older network technology. In Johannesburg, only 1.4 percent of 5G users were on 5G networks. 5G availability was similarly low in Singapore (6.8%), Rome (6.9%), Paris (7.2%), and Berlin (7.2%). (7.8 percent ).

A figure of more than 50% indicates that the majority of users in that city were able to connect to 5G networks for the most of their time. Only New York and Amsterdam, with 73.5 percent and 51.2 percent 5G availability, respectively, met this condition. Seoul came in third with 48.0 percent.
