The MediaTek Kompanio 1300T is now available and will power future tablets.

MediaTek has announced the Kompanio 1300T SoC, which is built on a 6nm process and designed for premium tablets with 5G, multimedia, AI, and gaming features.

The MediaTek Kompanio 1300T processor is an octa-core CPU featuring high-performance Arm Cortex-A78 cores and low-power Arm Cortex-A55 cores built on TSMC's 6nm manufacturing technology. In addition, the GPU's nine-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9 provides higher computation speed and frame rates. The following are the remaining characteristics:

• For the latest voice and visual applications, MediaTek's APU (AI processing unit) provides robust, energy-efficient AI computing capabilities.

• Supports all 5G sub-6GHz bands, 5G-2CA, Dual 5G SIM, 5G Elevator Mode, and 5G HSR Mode upgrades, as well as 5G Elevator Mode and 5G HSR Mode upgrades.

• Supports 2.5K displays with up to 120 Hz refresh rates, HDR10+ video playback, and MediaTek's MiraVision technology and eye protection engine, which intelligently adjusts picture attributes such as color saturation, brightness, sharpness, resolution, and frame rate for improved visual quality.

• Multi-camera designs are possible thanks to 108MP cameras, 4K 60fps video encoding and decoding, chip-level staggered 4K HDR video recording, Multi-Depth Smart Focus, and AI-Clear Streaming.

• Supports AI-powered voice assistants and includes a low-power voice-on-wakeup (VoW) capability.

• Includes MediaTek's HyperEngine 3.0, as well as network, control, performance, battery efficiency, and image quality advancements.

• Full band support for 5G Sub-6GHz and 2CC Carrier Aggregation (2CC CA), Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 for 5G Sub-6GHz and 2CC Carrier Aggregation (2CC CA), Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 for 5G Sub-6GHz and 2CC Carrier Aggregation (2CC CA), Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.

According to MediaTek, the Kompanio chips are now widely used by a variety of device manufacturers and power a number of popular personal computing devices, including Chromebooks and tablets. Tablet computers based on the Kompanio 1300T platform are expected to be released in the third quarter of 2021.
