When the feature was first implemented, Telegram indicated that it aimed to increase the number of people who could join a group conversation. To accommodate live events, it expands its voice and video calls. In its latest declaration, the company claimed that it would continue to raise the cap. Telegram's video messaging capability has also been upgraded, allowing users to see videos in higher definition. Users can now share their screen with sound and set their messages to auto-delete after one month, rather than the prior options of one day or one week, during one-on-one video conversations.
Telegram's revamped media editor reduces the brush width when users zoom in on photos and videos, allowing them to create more delicate details. Other new features include more password reset choices and animated emoji. The current version of the Android app adds support for 0.5x, 1.5x, and 2x playback rates, as well as additional sending animations. Meanwhile, iOS users will be able to send messages to multiple recipients and use a new in-app camera that supports all of their device's zoom settings.
